Shabbat - Parshat Noach (Noah)

October 18, 2023

3 Heshvan 5784

This video is an edited version of a Facebook column I shared with my congregation.

This week's Torah portion of NOACH (Noah) begins with a description of the world as a lawless, violent place, inhabited by individuals devoid of true humanity. Ironically, the Torah's word for such savagery is Hamas. As you might guess, in my commentary below I share connections between the biblical word and the Hamas barbarians of today.

I also suggest 'bullet points' for enlightening our politicians, our media and our neighbors about the diabolical evil of Hamas and why it is unconscionable to speak about Hamas and Israel with 'balanced' reporting.

More as a defiant expression of hope
than as a reality in these dark days,
I wish everyone a Shabbat Shalom.

Rabbi Klayman
