We are an egalitarian, Conservative synagogue in Great Neck, NY, looking for an energetic Rabbi to help us create a future where we attract new members while creating a vibrant and educational environment. We currently have limited services on Saturday mornings and holidays but we have a dedicated base of members who yearn for more. Must be able to lain Torah weekly on a triennial cycle. Position is currently part-time only.

Rabbi Michael Klayman, Rabbi Emeritus

Rabbi Michael Klayman became Rabbi of the Lake Success Jewish Center in 2008. He is married to Naomi, father to Shira, Shoshana, Rebecca, and Benjamin and Saba to Maya. In addition to being the spiritual leader, he has led a creative Hebrew School, and has enjoyed working with all ages, from tots through seniors. In addition to designing many creative programs for the congregation, he has been an active presence throughout the general community. For several years he served as President of the Great Neck Clergy Association. Through public access TV Rabbi Klayman has initiated several ‘diversity and dialogue’ programs, which bring together people of various faiths and ethnicities for open and candid conversation. Through North Shore TV, he has shared many Sabbath and holiday messages with the greater community of North Hempstead and Queens. He is co-author of Sharing Blessings: Children’s Stories for Exploring the spirit of the Jewish Holidays (published by Jewish Lights). In addition to his family, Rabbi Klayman enjoys exercise, sports, animals and reading the Harry Potter series in Hebrew.
