Leaving Home

Leaving home has many variations.

Our children experience leaving home for the first time when they attend summer camp.

Our younger children leave home at least for several hours, when they attend pre-school and beyond.

Older students leave home for college or to share their first apartment.

We leave home to relocate to another community at various stages of our lives.

Metaphorically we 'leave home' when we retire after years of service to a profession.

Some of us transition to a new job, where we need to build a reputation again.

In the portion of Lech Lecha, I share thoughts about Abraham and Sarah leaving home for new experiences.

Their move resonates with us for several, personal reasons.

Tune in for more.

Shabbat Shalom,
Am Yisrael Chai,

Rabbi Klayman
