Dear LSJC member,

On the advice of recently retained counsel, we have been instructed that prior to embarking on possible new paths for our Temple, we must first get congregational authority to allow us to explore future options.

In furtherance of that directive, we are asking that all LSJC members in good standing vote on or before November 13, 2024, to authorize the Board to explore future options. Voting may be conducted with our Administrator, Edith Goody by phone at 516-466-0569, ext 1, or email at info@lakesuccessjc.org.

We will be having our Annual Congregational Meeting as planned on November 13 at 7:30pm to discuss the current state of the synagogue as well as offer those attending an opportunity to vote in person. However, no specific proposals regarding a merger will be presented, discussed or voted upon on meeting. The primary order of business for the meeting is to get authority from the congregation to allow the Board to explore our options.

We apologize for any misunderstandings, but counsel has alerted us to some potential issues that we must identify and address before moving forwards.
